Adventure
Adventure is a iOS mobile application that allows users to easily plan travel arrangement and activities. Adventure has a user friendly interface designed to allows users to search and book adventure, while also hearing about other peoples experiences and connect with tour guides.
Role: UX Researcher & Designer
Time: 5 Weeks
Problem:
Currently there is a lack of communication between tourist and locals. Sometime people travel but they do not really know much about the city or the local community. The problem is that people feel lost as to where to go or what to do, and as a result waste time figuring out what there is to do in the neighborhood. There is not a way to get in touch with locals and participate with them to learn more about the community and culture.
1) Users are often restricted to just using the search bar for travel arrangements, but are not given options to explore travel arrangements.
2) There is a lack of communication when booking tours.
3) Lack of engagement between users to allow for a more connected travel experience.
Solution
Adventure connects tour guides together to allow travel arrangements to be a more connected experience. Adventure app encourages users to meet new people while also allowing users to engage in new experiences. Adventure allows users to arrange travel plans while also being able to share their experiencse with new users. This allows tourist to engage and learn more about the community while having new and exciting experiences. On the other hand, this also allow locals who have the knowledge of the city to educate tourist about the rich culture and history of different places around the world as well as make money the side.
Research
I conducted user interviews as a way of getting a better understanding of how users navigate thorugh the onboarding process of travel arrangements. Some of the question include I asked include
• What is the process of choosing a location and attraction.
• Where do users hear reviews about travel destinations
•What form of communication do users use when connecting with tour and tour guides
•What are some of the platforms users use to plan travel arrangements.
Takeaways
After conducting interviews users usually choose apps like instagram where they can see places they want to go and used apps like,
trip advisor, or hearing their friends about their experiences.
• Users don’t know where to meet up and often are lost since there is no meet up points
• Users cannot hear about current real experiences that are the most recent
• Users want to know and explore options that they have never heard before instead of just using the search bar.
• Users cannot connect with tour guides and there is no platform that allows easy communication that does not feel uncomfortable for users.

UI Design
After wire-framing and going through multiple iteration, I decided to design final screens.
For the home screen I decided to include destinations and locations as a way for users to explore destinations instead of just being restricted to the search bar.
The search icon below allow users to search for specific locations based on their needs. The search feature adds flexibility to allow users to search for specific attractions tailoring their needs.
The message icon was placed there so users can interact with tour guides and locals. It is a way for effective communication.
The globe icon labeled adventures, are adventures you have currently booked, all adventures that are booked can be viewed there for easy access.
The heart icon labeled saved, is where attractions/ adventures can be saved. It allows users to go back and check out places they have saved.
The account icon allows users to change their password and view information regarding accounts and payments.
The color pink was chosen because pink represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, and approachability. Since this app is a travel app, I chose the color pink to associate travel as a friendly and fun platform for users
Reflection
In creating this project I learned a lot about designing for users need. It open my mind to now just about how interfaces interact with users, but the deeper meaning of empathy as product designers to fulfill the needs of the users.
Improvements
•Conduct more user testing and research
• Include animations
• Implement more features
