What is Picnic Day ?
Picnic Day is UC Davis' annual open house event and tradition. It is one of the largest student-run organization in the nation with over 70,000 attendees each year. Picnic Day is a time where friends, family, faculty, alumni and the Aggie community can come together and have a good time and learn about UC Davis as a campus and what this research university has to offer and its achievements. Picnic Day holds more than 200 exhibits and attractions ranging from the sciences to the arts. This year's theme and slogan is "Where the Sun Shines".

As a Graphic Design Assistant Director for UC Davis Picnic Day, I worked with four designers and our director in creating marketing collateral, graphics, and digital assets for Picnic Day.

Our graphics team worked together to design the schedule of events for this year’s Picnic Day event. It is a comprehensive guide on all the attractions and events that are happening during Picnic Day.
Color & Typography
Primary Palette
These were the main colors used for 2018 Picnic Day. These colors were part of the brand and marketing materials.
Secondary Pallete
These colors were used as the secondary pallete which are used on on Picnic Day marketing materials and merchandise.
Typography
For Picnic Day our team decided to choose Atrament Bold and Proxima Nova. The type was bold and friendly while also being legible and clear.
